Supporting and Promoting our Library

What is a Friend of the Library?

A Friend is a member of the community who values the library and wants to support it by donating time and talent in a variety of ways.

What does a Friend do?

Advocates for support of library programming, projects and activities;
Cooperates with Friends of other libraries to share and develop ideas;
Fund raises money for library needs;
Sponsors and promotes educational and enrichment programs for all ages;
Promotes the library’s role as a center for community life.

Future Activities:
Book Sales - We need help to organize these and for workers the days of sales. Please leave your name and telephone number at the Library. The books sales are scheduled for;
July 5: before, during and after the parade
August 2: 10:00 am to 2:00 pm
September 1st to 3rd: Annual $1.00 per LARGE bag sale

Mystery Dinner – July 9, 2008 – Tickets will be on sale at the library.

Book Discussion Evenings – June 27, July 25 & August 15 – Book discussion evenings (3 of them). Copies of the books will be available at the library.

3) "No Country for Old Men" by Cormac McCarthy

More craft workshops are being planned. We are always open to suggestions for programs. This is YOUR library.

The “Friends” had a very successful “Chili Supper” in January, 2008.  Donations netted us $440.10, all of which will be used to pay for programming, books, and operational expenses of the library.
