David Kelley, founder of Project Harmony (first and largest secondary school exchange between the United States and the former Soviet Union), leads a book discussion of M.T. Anderson’s “Symphony for the City of the Dead: Dmitri Shostakovich and the Siege of Leningrad”. He spent much time in the city of Leningrad and has an understanding of the brutal time the people had during the siege by the Germans during World War II.
