Author Talk with T.H. Breen
Wednesday, July 8 at 4:00 PM

Join us at the Greensboro Free Library for a talk with local author and historian T.H. Breen on his recent book, The American Revolution on Trial: A New Nation Confronts the Burden of Independence.

Breen will explore a central question from the early years of the American Revolution: how does a new country demonstrate to the world that it is prepared to uphold the rule of law? During the winter of 1778, in the midst of revolution, a dramatic trial forced an American community to confront the full implications of independence from Great Britain and reconsider the cultural and political values of a struggling new nation.

T.H. Breen is the author of more than ten books and has taught at Northwestern University, Yale, and Caltech. He has also held distinguished appointments at Oxford University, Cambridge University, and the Library of Congress.

This program is free and open to the public.
