Art Exhibition - Marger Cecilia Villamizar
May Exhibition – Marger Cecilia Villamizar
On view May 7 – June 2
The Greensboro Free Library is pleased to present an exhibition of work by Marger Cecilia Villamizar.
Originally from the Venezuelan Andes and now based in Vermont, Marger’s work is inspired by mountains, plants, and the rhythms of the natural world. Drawing on nearly three decades as a floral designer, she creates botanical and Ikebana-inspired pieces using foraged and natural materials, including branches, plant cuttings, fabric, and paper.
The exhibition includes sculptural floral arrangements and wall-based work, along with a central installation, The Tree of Collective Intentions (El Árbol de las Intenciones Colectivas). This interactive piece invites visitors to pause, reflect, and contribute their own intentions as part of the display.
Some works will be available for purchase.
Workshop – May 21 at 5:00 pm
Marger will also offer a hands-on workshop, Ikebana-Inspired Upcycled Floral Art. Participants will create their own arrangements using locally sourced and foraged materials, with an emphasis on creativity, reuse, and connection to place.
